How does Ultherapy work?

Ultherapy uses ultrasound technology to treat aging skin on the face and neck. It works by using high-frequency sound waves to promote collagen production and tighten the underlying facial muscles. Over a period of around three to six months, this will tighten and lift your sagging skin, improve fine lines and wrinkles, and restore a more rejuvenated overall appearance.

An overview of Ultherapy treatments

Approximately 1 hour prior to your treatment, a topical anesthetic is applied to the treatment area along with a small amount of oral sedation. To begin your procedure, one of our providers, will apply a special gel to lubricate your skin over the treatment area. She will then carefully pass the ultrasound wand over your skin to stimulate the cells and promote collagen growth deep beneath the surface. You can expect the entire treatment to last about 20 to 60 minutes depending on the amount of areas to be treated.

Because Ultherapy is a completely non-invasive treatment, you can expect no downtime and will be free to resume your normal daily routine immediately. In terms of side effects, most patients experience little to no discomfort other than when the treated areas are touched. There can also be a minor amount of swelling or redness that quickly subsides within a few days.
