The most recent data from the American Society for Aesthetic Plastic Surgery (ASAPS) shows breast augmentation as the most popular form of surgical aesthetic enhancement, with 318,123 procedures performed in 2010. According to the latest study from the American Society for Aesthetic Plastic Surgery (ASAPS), more than 9.3 million cosmetic enhancement procedures were performed in 2010. Breast augmentation is the most common surgical procedure, accounting for almost 20% of all surgical procedures performed in the U.S. Dr. Michael Schwartz, a board-certified plastic surgeon in Thousand Oaks, CA, says this is likely due to the immediate impact and dramatic transformation the breast augmentation procedure can provide.
